“I was at work when it happened and they called me from work and the when I rushed to the hospital it was terrible.”
Reports are that Arana was at another’s woman’s house around nine that night when the female’s ex-boyfriend allegedly went into a jealous rage and stabbed him eleven times. Arana who works as a security guard at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital remains on a life support machine at the K.H.M.H.
Anna Arana, Sister of Stabbing victim
“We are just praying and hoping for the best because we love him very much and for me I’m his sister and he is the only brother that I have in Belize City right now so we can’t afford to lose him.”
The family remains optimistic but they have been informed by doctors that because of the severity of the wounds there may be permanent damage.

“He has a chop on his hand, it’s a possibility-the doctor di work with ah-but it’s a possibility that they might cut it, he might lose his arms but I don’t believe that. And he have a stab on his leg, he have lots of stabbing…I can’t help it(breathes deeply), it’s very hard for me cause I have two children for him.”
One of the stab wounds also damaged Arana’s left lung and he is having difficulty breathing properly. Police would only say they know who committed the crime but they have yet to make an arrest.
Police say following the incident Arana told them that he had gone to his girlfriend’s house for some food when the woman’s ex-common law husband attacked him with a knife.
