Robbers escape after assault on Corozal Community College

Corozal police are looking for two men who not only robbed a teacher and security guard this afternoon at the Corozal Community College, but the suspects also tried to break into the school’s accounts section. Police report that around one p.m. two armed masked men held up the teacher and security guard at the entrance to the school and stole from them personal effects and an undisclosed amount of cash. The robbers then made their way into the compound and tried to break away a burglar bar door to get into an office where we understand employees were collecting registration fees. But unbeknownst to the culprits, the police had already been alerted and shortly arrived on the scene. They were unable to catch the thieves, however, who quickly ran away.
