SMART’s Grand Anniversary Raffle Winner
In celebration of their seventh anniversary, SMART started a grand anniversary raffle that culminated on the twenty-ninth of last month. The grand raffle, which was carried out in partnership with COURTS, was for a living room and kitchen make-over. After three months of raffle entries, the lucky winner, thirty-nine year old Jason Staine of Belize City was selected. News Five got the reaction from Staine.

“We did the raffle on March 29th, our anniversary, and the lucky winner was Mr. Jason Staine and he is here from Belize City. This is something that we did electronically; it’s an automated raffle which shuffles all the tickets that were entered into the raffle. We had over four hundred and twelve thousand tickets entered; our customers could’ve participated either by sending texts to UWIN to get a chance for the raffle or for every five dollars usage they got a ticket also to enter to the raffle. So it was something over the three months. Our customers had ample time to participate and of course there could only be one winner and Mr. Jason is the winner of this grand prize.”

“Yes, well most of the things deh wah fit in perfect and we just wah have to get deh in dah the spot now and done.”

“So, did you text in? How many texts you sent?”

“I neva really text in, dah mostly the calls and after every so much calls I si wah message pop up and suh I just work with it from deh and I know that I wish that something might happen.”

“But you didn’t expect that you’d win the raffle?”
Jason Staine
“No, I neva really, really, really expect it like that.”

“When you got the call what was your first reaction?”

“When I got the call I mi di heng out with some ah my friends deh right, so when I get the call one ah mi friends tell mi dah wah stunt, suh I say, ‘nuh mien because the young lady tell mi ah dah the proud winna ah the SMART/COURTS,’ yuh know and from then afta that ih start give me the information and thing and ah say okay and congrats and thing and I say thanks.”

“Well, we were very pleased to partner with SMART on this occasion. We are happy when our customers are happy with what they get from Courts. Mr. Staine has won a stove, fridge, an entertainment unit, a sofa set, a rug and a tv. So he got a whole living room and kitchen makeover.”

By midday Staine received the items to do his living and kitchen makeover. The items are valued at over fifteen thousand dollars.
