Early morning robbery of Paula’s Store
The brazen afternoon murder on Albert Street and this evening’s murder are only two recent examples of the callous nature of criminals in the old capital. Another incident involving gun toting thugs occurred this morning, but the victims were spared and their emotional wounds will be healed. At nine o’clock this morning, Cemetery Road, one of the city’s busiest thoroughfares, was already abuzz with activity. Inside Paula’s Store, the owner and her employees were attending to customers when two dark complexioned men entered the shop enquiring about a piñata. When the proprietor shifted her attention to the men, one of them produced a firearm and demanded money. His accomplice quickly sprang into action, robbing both workers of cash and cell phones before relieving a customer of her wedding ring. The thieves then fled the scene but not before being caught on a surveillance camera. According to the Public Relations Officer for the Ministry of National Security, police officers responded a short while after and were later able to make an arrest.
Raphael Martinez, Public Relations Officer, Min. of National Security
“At nine-thirty this morning police were called to Paula’s store on Cemetery where reportedly two, again dark skinned males, entered the store and held up two employees and a customer at gunpoint and made off with an undisclosed amount of money and valuables. But luckily they had cameras in the store and based on that police have since detained one person and are looking for another.”
