Father’s Day tribute features James Brown, Otis Redding
In another part of the city this afternoon, organisers continue their preparations for a Father’s Day dance and a musical tribute. According to Joel Robinson of Dara’s Home Theatre System, on Sunday night Otis Redding and James Brown will take over the Faiyah Haat Restaurant on Newtown Barracks and dads will even be able to participate in entertainment, like karaoke.

“James, we call ah James Brown dah Belize; he would put off a James Brown dance. We have Robinson Girl who will pay tribute to Otis. We will sing some karaoke and if anybody think they could challenge him and sound better the crowd wah be the judge; I’ll give away two round trip from tropic Air for that. We’ll also have live music will be out there. It’s a whole night of fun and clean music and clean fun, you understand.”
“This one yah, it sounds like wah lot of females into it because of Otis Redding. I mean James Brown have his fans too but it seems that a lot of woman love Otis Redding music. And what everybody excited about to see him on the screen performing because they all see James Brown but they never see Otis and I have it, you know, I have my live video. I also have the last song he recorded on the DVD that I will show out there.”
Entrance fee is ten dollars single; fifteen dollars for couples. The fun is set to start at eight.
