Family of 6 charged for firearm offences

Six persons have been arrested and charged for illegal weapons found at a house on Peter Seco Street. Police conducted a search Tuesday and found a point four-ten gauge double barrel shotgun, one single action sixteen gauge shotgun, two sixteen gauge cartridges as well as a stolen lawnmower. Twenty-three year old Errol Lynch, nineteen year old Kent Lynch, twenty-five year old Leroy Gomez, twenty-seven year old Woodrow Reyes, twenty-one year old Virginie Alvarez and fifty-two year old Yvette Lynch were all brought before the court today. They were charged with Kept Ammunition without a Gun License, two counts of Kept Firearm without a Gun License and two counts of Handling Stolen Goods. In court, Kent took the rap for weapons and said he bought them for one thousand, five hundred dollars in the Maskall area. He also explained that he got them for protection because his house is adjacent to where the now deceased criminal figure Edward Lord lived. According to Kent, he was considered Lord’s right hand man and he now fears that his family will pay for his mistakes. He was sentenced to six years for each of the firearm and ammunition charges as well as one year and a half for each of count of handling stolen goods. But because not all sentences are consecutive, he will spend a total of thirteen and a half years in prison. While his guilty plea was accepted, the charges against the other accused persons were not withdrawn. They all pleaded not guilty and have been remanded until May seventeenth. A seventh person, Allison Major is also yet to be detained.
