Two prison escapees caught at Caye Caulker

Tonight two escapees are back behind bars thanks to the public’s assistance. Shortly after our story about the three inmates who escaped over the weekend from Hattieville Prison ran last night, authorities received reports that two of the wanted men were spotted boarding a barge bound for Caye Caulker. The information was relayed to cops on the island and when the vessel docked on the caye, the police were waiting. Sixteen year olds Francisco Martinez and Miguel Perez have since been transported to the Wagner Youth Facility. The duo will be charged with escape, an offence that carries a month to a year in additional time in jail. The third escapee, seventeen year old Sergio Martinez, remains at large.
