Justice Samuel Awich elevated to Appeals Court

samuel awich

No formal announcement has been made, as is usual in the circumstances, in respect of the elevation of Justice Samuel Awich to the Court of Appeal. But from what we gather, Awich’s appointment was formalized this past Tuesday. His new contract is for a two year period. The previous contract as a Supreme Court Judge expired in February but he was given an extension up until mid-May to clear up the cases before him. As we have reported, the Bar Association opposed his elevation and passed a resolution unanimously except for one abstention, which is rare since the Bar is divided along political lines.  The Opposition Leader, who constitutionally has to be consulted, also did not support the Prime Minister in the elevation of the Judge. The next session of the court of appeal is in June.

Govt should pass amendment to eliminate all courts. This will make gangs happy and save tax money. With courts gone, close police, save more money. When no electricity come, everyone stay at home at night with their illegal guns, be safe and save more money.
