More persons charged for weapon used in shooting
Two more persons have been charged in connection with the nine millimeter pistol and point thirty-eight ammunition found at a Castle Street address. The weapon are believed to be used in this past Wednesday’s shooting of Jermaine “Horse” Garnett. Gion “Gizmo” Bernard has been fingered for the attempted murder of Garnett, but when his mother, Judith Rocke’s home on Castle Street was searched in the wake of the shooting, Rocke and her other son, Michael Herrera, were jointly charged for firearm offences. And today, Bernard was brought back to Court to answer to firearm offences along with a fourth accused; twenty-three year old Shane Crawford. Both Bernard and Crawford were arraigned this morning before Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer. Crawford and Bernard both pleaded not guilty to the charge of Kept Firearm and Kept Ammunition without a Gun License. The duo joins Rocke and Herrera who are on remand and they are scheduled to reappear in Court on June eighth.
