Double Murder of cousins after Agricultural Show
The gang war in Belize City may have slowed down because of the additional police and Belize Defense Force presence. Nevertheless, three men were murdered this past weekend; one man was shot several times on the south side of Belize City. However, the focus of the country this past weekend, the Agricultural show-grounds, was also the setting for two murders. The savage double murders of twenty-two year old Javier Larios and Moses Orellano, a pair of first cousins, who attended the National Agriculture and Trade Show on Saturday, remain a mystery. Tonight, the Belmopan Police Department is making all attempts to crack this latest case. According to Orellano’s mother, the twenty-three year old left their home near mile twenty-six on the Hummingbird Highway earlier that morning to visit the annual expo along with his sibling and a cousin. While socializing at the fair it is believed that they may have been involved in an altercation with another group of young men who reportedly pursued them afterwards. At two o’clock on Sunday morning Belmopan Police were summoned to an area along the main road inside the show-ground where they saw Larios, a resident of St. Matthew’s Village, suffering from a stab wound to the center of his chest. He had also been viciously slashed across the right forearm. Larios was immediately transported to the Western Regional Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. About an hour and a half later, at three forty a.m., officers were once again called to an area not far from where Larios was found, this time they observed the motion-less body of Moses Orellano beneath a Mack truck. He had been stabbed in the left side of his chest. His younger sibling, David, was walking ahead of the pair and caught only a glimpse of what transpired when he glanced in their direction.
David Larios, Brother of Deceased

As long as this no good useless pm and gov. Are in office these murders will never stop this year it looks like the murder rate will double good luck to all belizeans hope you are not in this number this year am telling you we need to march on this gov. And useless pm march people before it is too late for you or one of your family members.
I hope the police are competent to solve these murders, and the DPP to win convictions.
Then, the judge must have all the killers hanged. No mercy. no exception.
Belize needs firm and inescapable justice. I believe we should withdraw from the Caribbean Court because it opposes the death penalty, and sides philosophically with the rights of criminals instead of the rights of law-abiding victims.
If these are not the last days, similiar to the last days of Noah’s time just before the flood that wiped out that violent world of mankind, then I don’t know what is.
It is so apparent that life is worth nothing anymore in the land of my birth.
I am totally convinced that no government coming out of Belmopan or anywhere else on planet earth for that matter can bring an end to this wanton disregard for human life. Only a government by God will be able to do it, believe it or not.
The guys that did that horrable crime should b killed w a shot 2 the head or hanged. Or Atleast have a slow and painful death.
this environment of lawlwssness fosters this behavoir, wanton disregard for life. let us kill these 2 spanish for stepping out of line. because there is a very high probabilty that we will never get charged for murder.
I have been paying attention to the arguments for and against the removal of the police in charge in San Ignacio. those supporting him claim that he is using the model of the broken window utilized in New york and LA where petty crime is addressed immediately. but this does not mean stopping people from doing business on a Sunday, closing down a tortilla factory on sunday is ridiculous.
stop drunks from urinating in streets, no drunk driving, no obscene language in public places,
no loud music , no one drinking in front of their chinese grocery shop. these are to be inforced.
this will have an effect, sttop graffiti on private and public buildings.
i stood watching a police at the entrance of the agric show while he did the check up when i was going out and two guys pass through clean while wearing the big buckle belt with out the metal detector beeping, i thought that once there’s metal that thing should beep but it never did, my wife ask me if it’s on or the police doesn’t know how to use it. it was a short police man and mein if it didn’t detect those metal buckles then any gun or knife went undetected then. i know many people saw the police man there but did any body saw it as i did? very concerning either it doesn’t work properly or he didn’t have it on or he don’t know how to use it. a point that the law should be more vigilant.
