Belize City shooting leaves victim critical

A Belize City youth lies in the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, the victim of yet another shooting. According to police, twenty-one year old Marvin Ramirez was critically wounded after an unidentified gunman shot him in the left side of the chest, abdomen, hip, thigh, wrist, and bicep. Ramirez reportedly came under a hail of bullets around one-thirty this morning as he rode his bicycle near the intersection of Dean Street and Euphrates Avenue. Preliminary investigations reveal that the attempted murder may have been an isolated incident. Authorities have been questioning a number of people from the area to determine the shooter’s identity and why he would want to kill Ramirez.
