“Cost of living” in isolation is not really the question — the economy is stagnant, but unemployment has risen noticeably, and poverty and misery are ‘way up. It is the QUALITY of living that has plunged in the Jewel, I’m sad to say.
We need jobs, we need foreign capital invested in honest businesses, we need monopolies dismantled so we can benefit from free, fair, and open competition. And we need an honest Lands Department with integrity in its records, and we must get GOB out of the practise of choosing favourites among private businesses.
Other than that, everything is perfect in the Jewel’s economy.
Of course cost of living has gone up!!!!the problem is that our pay has not moved to go along with the steady increase in our cost of living…But what really bothers me is reading the response for this question and I’m literally trying to understand how is it that some people actually voted that their cost of living has actually decreased….I would like to know who they are and what part of Belize are they living……….
i don’t believe people will still vote that cost of living has decreased for them!!. HOW??? SOUND STRANGE!
WELL, DEFINITELY I HAVE NOT SEEN A DECREASE.. . COST OF LIVING INCREASE.. AS EACH DAY GOES. COST OF LIVING IS HIGH.. ………..DUE TO THE BAD GOB ADMINISTRATION..
