GSU puts away another man with an illegal loaded gun
The GSU conducted a number of operations today. At mile four on the Western Highway this morning, Francis Benitez, a Salvadoran national was arrested and charged for firearm related offences. He was travelling as a passenger in a pickup truck towards Belize City when he was searched and the GSU found a point thirty-eight special pistol and live rounds of ammunition inside his left front pants pocket. Benitez has since been arrested and charged for kept firearm without a gun license and kept ammunition without a gun license. In the other operation, Raymond Anthony Lanza was arrested and charged for drug trafficking after the GSU intercepted a black Cherokee Jeep at the junction of the Burrell Boom road. Lanza was accompanied by John Alexander Fuller and his son John Junior, who were also charged. A search of the vehicle yielded one hundred and eighteen grams of cannabis concealed under the bonnet. A further search led to more cannabis and John Senior was charged for an additional count of Drug Trafficking. This afternoon, Edwin Jones, a sculptor, was charged for a small quantity of cannabis found in his pocket and his bedroom.
Keep it up, GSU.
Small quantities of herbs should not be a crime… IT’S JUST A TREE THAT GROWS like Calaloo or Cerasee.
heard all the small talk before!!! Cannabis is still illegal so offenders will be punished
Charlie, some parts of the USA [and of course places in Europe] permit growing FOR YOUR OWN PERSONAL USE, but not for sale, and never for minors. That kind of policy here might SLIGHTLY reduce the criminal element. But when quantities are for sale, and people make big money, those people become dangerous — sadly, people will rob, cheat, steal, and murder for the love of money.
I’ve had members of my own family lose decades of their lives to this “herb,” so I’m not too fond of it. Like alcohol, it can destroy lives, and cripple grown men so they do not care to support their own families. Have you ever seen anything like that among your acquaintances?
I wish God had made a world where alcohol and drugs were unknown. We’d all be happier and more prosperous.
