Repeat burglary offended sentenced to 7 years in prison
In news from the Courts, a New Road resident has picked up his third conviction for crimes of dishonesty. Today, thirty year old Carlos Castro was sentenced to seven years imprisonment after he was found guilty of Attempted Burglary for trying to gain entry into a home in the Linda Vista Area of Belize. The incident occurred on February second, 2011 at ten o’clock when Castro was caught by a female police officer as he attempted to pry open the door to the house with a make shift crow bar. In his defense, Castro claimed he was innocent and that at the time of the attempted burglary, he was making a delivery with a cousin named Alex. But Chief Magistrate Ann Marie Smith was not convinced and believed the testimony of the police officer, who identified Castro as he tried to gain access to the home.

Thanks to the police and Magistrate Smith. Here’s one career criminal who will not be doing any damage for a while. Keep it up!
