Bishop Wright emergency surgery a success
Catholic Bishop Dorrick Wright is tonight recovering from brain surgery following a collapse late last week. Wright, a long time diabetic, fell ill following mass on Holy Thursday and had to be rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. After it was determined that he required neurological care, Wright was transferred to Belize Medical Associates. A cat-scan revealed that there was bleeding on the right side of the brain and doctors performed a six hour surgery to remedy the condition. He was scheduled to be released from the Intensive Care Unit at six tonight. Bishop Wright will convalesce for the next month at the Pallotine Nursing Facility on Princess Margaret Drive. In January, Wright assumed the post as Catholic Bishop of Belize from his predecessor Bishop Osmond Peter Martin.
