US national still in custody for murder of Bella Vista woman

And in respect of a previous murder, on Tuesday of this week we reported that police had detained a U.S National in connection with the murder of twenty-five year old waitress, Susana Roselia Romero of Bella Vista Village. He has not been charged, but today, Romero’s family told News Five that they were informed by police that the US National will remain in custody for an additional seventy-two hours. Last Wednesday night, Romero was at La Mafia, a bar in the village, drinking with two friends when she left with a man, who she was reportedly familiar with. Romero never returned home and was reported missing. After combing the area for days, Romero’s badly decomposing body was discovered just outside the village along the southern highway. Police detained the man on Sunday and the following day impounded two vehicles. On Monday morning, Romero’s badly decomposing body was discovered just outside the village, a few yards off the Southern Highway. She was partially nude.
Really Belize, we haven’t charge him yet???? if it was a foreigner in the US who did this sort of crime or any crime would be locked up and charged right away. It appears that we have lost all sense of responsibility and respect for our Belizeans by the Police Department who is there to serve and to protect
I hope police and DPP gather the evidence and present the case perfectly.
Give the man a fair conviction, then hang him, soon, not years from now. We have to protect people in the Jewel from killers from wherever they come.
