Police Association President and Vice President interdicted
In an update to the Police Association issue, we can confirm that Corporal Eldon Arzu, the president, has been charged for being disrespectful to a superior officer while Vice President, Sergeant Edlin Lorenzo was charged for disobeying a lawful command. Both officers were given letters of interdiction, effective today and will now go to disciplinary briefings. The two are the leaders of the Belize Police Association who have been vocal against the hasty transfer of police officers.
It’s hard to imagine what drives the police hierarchy to continue to escalate a bad situation and make it worse, day by day, that can only hurt law enforcement and public safety if the line officers decide to back their interdicted brothers with a “go slow” or other work action. We all suffer for some pretty foolish looking egos.
These are the kinds of things that happen when their is no leader in the country total chaos and mayhem.

Chaos and mayhem caused by people who are rebellious to rule of law and authority, “ROD”. I can see why these things happen. Too many people have your attitude Rod. Any subjection to the law, out comes rebelliousness, which is a very very serious thing and will bring serious consequences
We are not surprised, the police commissioner has antiquated powers passed down from the British times, to do as he pleases with the junior staff. Such a shame, that in this day and age when we believe we are in a democratic country where we believe we have freedom of speech and transparcency in our government, our police officers are being suppressed by one person in command. What kind of minister sits back and allows this abuse of power to take place? Why is the police quick to take disciplinary action on these men who are standing up for their colleagues and slow to take action on criminals. Look how Vasques still has not been fully charged for all offenses, yet Lowe done get charged for a minor offence. Instead the commissioner deal with pressing matters such as our children being raped, killed and abused he is more concerned about his power to transfer, his pleasing of the minister, his lack of consideration to officers who work under his command…getting tired of this crappy situation our country is in constantly mein.
Why are they doing this belizean think man think take off you dunce hat and think for a change when their is no leader the people will do whatever they want like all the corrupt ministers whey the thief money outright incompetent judges who are not qualified hell when ou have a pm that’s a bafoon in the eyes of he world and this country what do you expect I’ll tell you what to expect. Murders, rapes, Guatemala the rape the country children being raped and killed all over the place a leader who is paying gang members to do his bidding education in the drain, uninployment. At almost 20percent crime out of control corruption so rampant that the last gov pales in comparison tourism in the drain people afraid to come out of hei own homes on and on. Belizean you must be living under a rock fu even think this ya gov. Good eighter that or your just an imbasil.
Do you guys know where the * zetas* cartel originaly came from? The *zetas* was form from a group of police, army etc that was either fired because they did not follow rules from the goverment or superiors. A lot of them were “shady” and a big amount very good but,they were push by the goverment to the wrong side. Is this what we whant for Belize.? I dont think so. This is how terrorist are form also. Lets be fair to our police and lets not push them to the wrong side. They are already strugling with the stupid salary. And this is how we pay them?. What you whant out there more criminals than police?
It’s such ashame that the President and Vice President of the Police Assosiation is being interdicted because someone is finally standing up against the corrupted . Where are our laws, these men have rights have anyone read the constitution lately. Oh my it really disgusts me that the minister is sitting back and allow such injustice and abuse of their superiority. These are the very men that fight for our country to keep our street safe and this is how the commissioner wants to repay them huh….taking food from the table of the good-will policemen. Get the criminals Mr Commissioner, where is your brains at?
The police leadership in Belize displays lack of communuication skills, low inteligence and a mean streak that makes you wonder how they got to be where they at in the first place. This action reeks of revenge and a desire to put someone in his/her place. This is just another ploy to keep the voice of the underling down. My suggestion to the police brass is to rethink this action and be man enough to admit when you have done wrong and will withdraw these interdictions. I know they think theey have big ….. whereby they do not have to admit their wrongdoing! If they do not admit then they are showing themselves as lacking the smarts to be in the opoistion they hold. Big people, I mean really big, and I am talking about thinking capacity, are those who are willing to say they are sorry and think about getting together with all parties involved to make the situation better! Not worse by wanting to show that they are boss!
I have no illusions that these boys at the top will be men enough to step back and reassess. Instead they will press on, like the national animal, mountain cow, forward with no swerve. That animal does that because it lacks intelligence and is doomed by nature to be this way! Want to show yourself as different, police brass?
