Feud between male/female taxi drivers escalates to court…and shooting?

An ongoing feud between a male and a female taxi driver has ended up before the courts with both of them facing charges. First, Darwin Lodge was charged on Tuesday with Damage to Property for allegedly throwing a beer bottle at the taxi driven by twenty-five year old Tonee Anthony, who says the car belongs to her mother.  Lodge was granted bail and released. But the drama continues and this morning, Anthony was the one answering to charges of Wounding, Aggravated Assault with a Machete and Damage to Property for allegedly damaging Lodge’s one thousand, three hundred and twenty-five dollars bicycle. She pleaded guilty to the offense of aggravated assault with the machete, but not guilty to the other two charges. Anthony admitted that she attacked Lodge, but said that he disrespected her, assaulted her with an empty beer bottle, which he then threw at the car. According to Anthony, when she went to report the incident, she was arrested and charged. Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer entered a not guilty plea for the charge of aggravated assault and denied bail to Anthony since she owes the court an outstanding fine. Police also informed Anthony when she was arrested that Lodge was shot in the chest on Tuesday night and that she will also be charged in connection with that incident.

“Darwin Lodge, sometime around nine-fifteen he said that someone shouted for him at his house and upon opening his door, a gun man just fired a single shot that hit him to the right side of the chest. He is at the Karl Huesner right now receiving treatment.”

Anthony has not yet been arraigned for Lodge’s shooting, but she is to return to court on August eighth for the three charges of Wounding, Aggravated Assault and Damage to Property.
