Police crime statistics for first and second quarters

The crime statistics released by the Police Department on Wednesday show that there were fourteen categories of crime committed throughout the country between January and August fifteenth of this year. And it seems the year started off with a bang as most of the major crimes such as murders, rapes, robberies, thefts and burglaries occurred in the first quarter of the year. The only other serious offense that posted more numbers in the second quarter was unlawful carnal knowledge. There were nine hundred and ten violations in the first quarter of the year, eight hundred and twenty eight in the second quarter, and for the period July first up to August fifteenth there were three hundred and ninety three crimes committed. Coincidentally, when compared to the same period last year, the number of homicides remained the same at twenty eight in the first three months.
