Mother doesn’t want investigation into newborn’s death
Today marks one week since Salome Busano gave birth to a baby boy at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital and three days since he died. After the incident, Busano accused the doctor who discharged her baby with jaundice on Sunday with negligence because she felt that the child was released too early. But today when News Five went looking for her, she was in a different mood. Busano told News Five off camera that she does not want to pursue any investigation into the baby’s death. In fact, she even opted not to have an autopsy conducted on the newborn to determine the cause of death. She says she just wants her child to rest. The baby will be buried on Saturday morning. Busano is the mother to two other boys. On Thursday the Public Relations Officer at the K.H.M.H., Gary Ayuso, told News Five that the hospital had begun an investigation into the incident. Just how far they will reach in their findings without a post mortem examination is yet to be known.
