Hezbollah investigation continues; Belmopan City employee questioned

The police investigation into the Belizean passport, driver’s license and birth certificate, issued in late August to alleged Hezbollah associate Raffic Labboun continues. The Criminal Investigations Branch of the police has taken a statement from Kevin Jones, a supervisor at the Belmopan City Council, who issued the driver’s license to Labboun in the name of Wilhelm Dyck. The first inconsistent issue that is to be resolved is how the license was issued in a twelve thousand series while the department is still using the eleven thousand series on the documents. The investigators also noted that citizens can pick up their licenses no later than three-thirty, but Labboun got his Belizean driver’s license at four thirty, one hour after the cut-off time. Police are also questioning the younger brother of Wilhelm Dyck. It appears that he may have provided information of his deceased brother’s identity to others. So the police are trying to determine who knew details about Dyck’s short life and if that could be a possible trail that could lead to Labboun. The case file has been handed over to Marilyn Williams of the Financial Intelligence Unit, but efforts, including voice mails to reach her over the past few days have been futile.

There is also another case that is being investigated for a possible passport violation issued to one Fidel Garcia of Barrack Road. No one by that name lives at the address. It is a location frequented by naturalized Belizeans from the Middle East. News Five has continued its series on visas issued to people from West Africa, East Africa, South Asia, East Asia and Middle Eastern nations. The most recent case involved visas given to alleged businessmen from Nepal and India. The businessmen travel to Belize via Chile and El Salvador. They claim that their trips are sponsored by the owner of Bismillah Store in San Ignacio and they stay at Belmoral Hotel on Burns Avenue. The names, ages, passport numbers and Belize visa numbers have been handed over to the Minister of Immigration, Godwin Hulse who says that he will have the matter investigated.  The question of how the owner of a small store can regularly finance the visit of these alleged businessmen to Belize should also be a matter for the Financial Intelligence Unit. Contacts in Nepal and India have been unable to determine if these alleged business persons have returned to their homeland. We’ll keep following the paper and money trails of this story.

GSU needs to raid and search every location connected with these improper passports, visas, and licenses. Hezbollah is one of the ultimate gangs, and if they are in the Jewel, they must be suppressed.

The Islamic terrorists play hard, we need to play harder. Crush them now before it is too late for this little nation. They are incredibly violent, and with all our other problems, we mustn’t close our eyes to the danger of becoming home to nests of Middle Eastern vipers.

  2. Gone fishing says:

Great work by the Belizean media on the Identity heists. The international community is wondering what is going on here with all these nefarious characters breaching the government’s departments.

  8. Uncle Benji says:

Beautiful beaches and rum is synonomous with Jamaica. Warmongering is synonomous with the USA. What is synonomous with Belize? Corruption!

Corruption and Belize goes like peanut butter and jelly. You can’t have one without the other. Back in the 20s, Belize had the logwood scandal, 30s chicle scandal, 40s land scandal, 50s birthpaper scandals, 60s Guatemala scandal, 70s voters fraud scandal, 80s passports scandal, 90s drug exportation scandal, and the decades move on, but scandal and corruption remains.

    So what’s new pussycat?

  9. Now I get it says:

Hizbollah connections in Belize with Saffa, terrorist sleeper cells, money laundering, stolen identity, traficking in persons. I always wondered HOW it is possible to build a 2 million dollar building cutting hair.

  10. kENYA says:

Investigating in Bz shouldn’t be a science problem, it is easy to solve, everybody knows everyone & what they do; they just don’t say anything when a FEW PENNIES IS GIVEN TO THEM.

  11. Al says:

This will be swept under the rug, unless America demand answers this will go away, why because this thing goes high and could send shock waves through the government. I agree this is treason, not only against Belize, but against Amerixa, and the rest of the world where America has embassies.

I believe the only reason the embassy in Belize was safe is becasue the cell needed a safe haven from which they could launch attacks on other places without being found out. So many cariminals are telling this government you are stupid, I can hide in the open and you cant see me or find me.
Sad situation and yet the PM knows nothing, excuse me he is so right he KNOWS NOTHING, nada, except how to get rich and make sure his family also prospers, while the country and the people go to the dogs.

  12. Belizean Pride says:

if the Americans pressure Belize to dig in to bring a conclusion to this terrorist clan, all persons involved will be found BUT if it’s the Belizean authorities soon all this scandal will fade in to nothing as usual. let’s see how far this scandal goes, and where those this gov. plans to carry on, on issues that threaten our national security as a nation in this 21st century.
