Flores freed of carnal knowledge charges

A San Pedro resident waited anxiously for three hours as a jury of nine deliberated on five counts of carnal knowledge upon an eleven year old girl. And at two-forty-five this afternoon, Edwin Flores received the good news that he was found not guilty on all counts. Flores was arrested after a relative found him alone with the girl at her house on March twelfth, 2009 and alerted her mother, who then contacted the police. The girl was examined and a doctor confirmed that she had been carnally known. Trial began last week before Justice Adolph Lucas in the Supreme Court where Flores was represented by Attorney Hubert Elrington. The minor testified, claiming that Flores had sexual intercourse with her against her will in November and December of 2008 as well as in January, February and March of 2009. She gave compelling evidence of the fifth sexual encounter, when they were caught but there was no solid evidence on the other four incidents. The doctor who examined the child could only confirm that she was sexually active, which was not enough to substantiate the charges. Throughout the trial, Flores denied the allegations and said that he had gone to the house to pick up a saw and decided to make a sandwich, when the girl arrived and said she needed to use the bathroom. The aunt arrived shortly after and accused him of having a sexual relationship with the girl, which he denied.
I generally believe in the jury system, because it protects us from arbitrary jailing by a government that can be corrupt and repressive. But I also know jurors sometimes get it wrong.
God knows who had intercourse with this 11 year old child, and that person is dangerous.
It’s in the interest of the community there to figure it out, and keep their children away from the pervert who raped the little girl. Experience supports the probability he will rape again.
This child knows exactly what she was doing because of the dates mentioned. How can the jury not indict, the statement says “compelling evidence when they were caught the 5th time, eventhough they could not acquit on the other times. Who are these JURORS. You need to get College/University People to be jurors, becuase LIARS USE SPIN & the less knowledge people do not COMPREHEND. Just from reading this article he has been found guilty, what a WASTE.
