Shooter who missed gets off with $500 fine
There is also news from the Magistrate’s Court that a man who pled guilty to shooting at another man has been fined and released. According to twenty one year old Darwin Rocke, he was in his yard on Monday night feeding his dogs. At some point he looked up only to see two armed men approaching his property. With little warning, the duo started shooting. Rocke managed to escape the bullets unharmed but immediately reported the incident to police. Turns out he recognized one of his attackers as Chester Codd who was later detained for questioning. Codd appeared before Magistrate Sharon Frazer today where he pled guilty to aggravated assault. Using her discretionary powers, Frazer fined him five hundred dollars plus five dollars cost of court. Codd was also ordered to keep the peace for one year or face an additional fine of one thousand dollars. If he fails to pay up, he will spend six months behind bars.
