Prosser cites “threats”, reschedules meeting

Story PictureThe showdown between rival ownership factions anticipated for Friday morning at B.T.L. headquarters will not materialize as scheduled. According to a press release issued by Jeffery Prosser’s Innovative Communication Company, the meeting, called to reassert the minority shareholder’s alleged rights, has been rescheduled for Thursday, February twenty-second at the Princess Hotel. The reason cited for the change is a “threatening” letter written by B.T.L. chairman Keith Arnold suggesting that the Innovative representatives could be arrested if they entered the Company’s headquarters without authorization. Prosser is relying on a ruling by Chief Justice Abdulai Conteh, upheld by the Court of Appeal, that the last two annual general meetings were unconstitutional and that Prosser’s rights to board representation had been violated. In his letter to Innovative representative Herbert Sampson, Arnold accuses the Prosser group of deliberately attempting to destabilize the company at a time when it is involved in a serious labour dispute with its unionized work force. The letter goes on to deny the validity of any board seats for Innovative representatives, including Prosser, whom Arnold claims is disqualified under the company’s articles due to his declaration of bankruptcy.
