Sittee River resident gets attempted murder charge

Jason McKenzie

Twenty-six year old Kenroy Flowers almost lost his life on March twenty-fourth when he was stabbed to the abdomen while trying to break up a fight between his friend and another man. It took police seven months, but tonight the man accused of inflicting the injury is behind bars. Twenty-one year old Sittee River resident, Jason McKenzie was arrested today and was quickly taken before Magistrate Aretha Ford where he was charged with Attempted Murder, Grievous Harm and Use of Deadly Means of Harm. No plea was taken and McKenzie has been remanded until his next court appearance on December twentieth. The incident back in March occurred on Kut Avenue in Belize City, but police believe McKenzie has been in hiding in Sittee River, Stann Creek where he is originally from.

This is the same person whose latest girlfriend was found hanging, dead, recently, leaving her 3 kids orphaned.

Police need to re-open that case, because this man is dangerous, easily capable of murdering a lover who became somehow inconvenient. Police here just give up and go back to bed too easily.

The fact goes that his lover committed suicide…but here is an interesting fact: suicides do not kill themselves far away from home…but at home. Another interesting fact is that a ladder was found at the place of death. She was bearfooted. Tell me this how can a skinny woman with no shoes carry a ladder and rope, half a mile away from where she lived with this man??????????
PLEASE police officers do your job! Make theories! Ask questions! Do not be afraid….we the people of Belize need justice!!!!!!!!!

    Good points, Concerned.

This case smells pretty rotten, so I dream and pray DPP and CIB will re-investigate and solve it, instead of just closing the books on another Belizean death. I can understand the victim leaving this violent man to return to her babies, but I have a lot of trouble imagining she would go off to kill herself and never see them again. For most of us, our children are most of what we live for.
