“A robbery in Belize City; Mister Christian Lara, a nineteen year old Belizean student of SJCJC, reported that on Friday at approximately 1:05 p.m., he was walking on University Drive towards West Landivar and upon reaching in front of the University of the West Indies, he was approached and stopped by two male persons on separate bicycles. They searched him and by the use of force, they took away his blue Samsonite brand knap sack valued at  ninety dollars and also his HP brand laptop with charger valued at one thousand five hundred dollars along with his school papers. Both male persons then escaped on their bicycles as police continue their investigations. Another robbery in Belize City; Mister Rony Alexander Lopez, thirty-eight year old of Belize City, reported that at approximately four p.m. on the afternoon of the nineteenth was walking on the same Princess Margaret Drive. Upon passing in front of Edward P. Yorke High School heading towards the Marion Jones Stadium, he was approached from behind and grabbed around the neck by a male of dark complexion who placed a firearm to his head. A struggled reportedly ensued between them during which Lopez managed to grab hold of the assailant’s hand and the firearm. At this time, another male person intervened and a magazine loaded with nine Aguila brand nine millimeter rounds fell out of the firearm. Lopez was subsequently relieved of a brown knapsack which contained his personal items and police are seeking a Belize City man for questioning.”
