Construction co. pitches in to help Salvation Army
Despite its reputation for helping the less fortunate, the Salvation Army school has been the target of thieves who have robbed the institution of everything from desks to blackboards to food and school supplies. The most recent attack took place on Tuesday, forcing frustrated officials to appeal for the public’s assistance in reporting suspicious activity in and around their compound. Tonight we are happy to report that the plight of the educational institution has not gone unnoticed as on Thursday, construction supplies store Joseph and Taylor, handed over a cheque for five hundred dollars to help fund the feeding programme. This week PACT also donated seven hundred dollars worth of food, reading, and writing materials, in addition to five hundred dollars. Management says they will use the money to reinforce their feeding centre’s burglar bar windows with another layer of steel mesh. Up to news time tonight no one had been arrested in connection with the latest attack on the Salvation Army school on Cemetery Road.
