SICA officials meet to prep for Belize presidency
Member countries of the Central American Integration System are meeting in Belize this week to hold regional information sessions regarding the work of the secretariat. At the end of the month, Belize will accept the pro tem presidency of the organisation and officials will use today and tomorrow to update their Belizean counterparts on the programmes and projects currently underway. During a press conference this afternoon, it became clear that SICA plans to use Belize’s strong relationship with the Caribbean Community to strengthen ties between the two sub-regions. According to Belize’s Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amalia Mai, the points of cooperation have already been short listed.
