Lee Henkis’ second conviction for molesting boys

Lee Henkis

Meanwhile, in the courtroom of Justice Troadio Gonzalez, a forty-three year old man was found guilty of sodomizing a nine year old boy. The young boy, now eleven years old, testified that on July fourth, 2010 he went to the house of Lee Henkis, who had promised him a cell phone. Henkis told him that the phone was in his bedroom and when the boy went in, he removed both of their clothes and took advantage of him. He says that Henkis then took out a video camera and recorded him before returning his clothes and giving him the cell phone. Henkis, who was unrepresented, gave a dock statement saying that he took the boy fishing, but that he never had sex with him.  Prosecutor Thalia Meagan Francis called several witnesses to testify against Henkis including the boy’s parents. They were able to convince the jury of nine persons, who deliberated for over four hours and found Henkis guilty of Committing an Unnatural Crime upon a nine year old boy. Sentencing is set for November twenty-eighth, when Justice Gonzalez will hear mitigation on his behalf.  This is Henkis’ second conviction for child molestation; he was found guilty of sodomizing an eight year old boy in 2002.

  1. Storm says:

Perverts are incurable they MUST be castrated upon conviction!

If Henkis had been castrated after raping the first child, this poor 9 year old would not have been raped.,

In my view, death is not too severe a sentence for child molesters — I wish our Assembly had the courage to enact it.

  2. Draven says:

I say that they should just castrate the bastard for what he did to those children. There is no excuse for his crimes.

  3. Rod says:

Hang him by his bolas hang him high we cannot continue letting these perverts out hang him high.

  4. Tongue lashing says:

How about tongue lashing on our leaders, PM, NGOs Min of Human Development for not enforcing a sex offenders list, and to increase the sentences on these crimes against our children. our PM seems to enjoy”tongue lashing opposition members and now head of the IDB, now let him tongue lash his ministers and heads of depts because this is his second term in office, NO EXCUSE!!!

  5. Al says:

This man has a problem, he is clearly a pedophile, he needs treatment which I know is not available to him in Belize prison. So the law needs to protect the innocence of children. Make sure he is given the maximum especially this being his second time doing this. He is a sick man, he cannot help himself, so protect him from himself.

  6. Irieas says:

According to LAW, the court can now sentence him – TO LIFE. Lots of Hattieville Ramada residents will welcome him home….

  7. Bear says:

    1. Al, I’ve read a LOT about the child molestation scandal in the Catholic Church in the States, and there the Church DID send its molesting priests for treatment — and most of them molested again, after treatment — sometimes DURING treatment. I vote with the folks who say molesters cannot be cured, at least with present therapy. So lock them away, protect the children above anything else.

    2. If the man had molested my child, I would feel compelled to murder him.
