Radar wasn’t working when drug plane landed on the highway

The trial involving several law enforcement officers accused in the largest drug seizure in recent history continued today before Justice Denis Hanomansingh in the Dangriga courts with arguments from the defense. Police officers Renel Grant, Lawrence Humes, Jacinto Roches, Mark Middleton and Customs boatman Harold Usher, as well as Victor Logan have been indicted for the importation of eighty bales of cocaine, following the landing of a drug plane in South Stann Creek in November 2010.  Thirty-five witnesses were called to the stand plus the former commissioner of police, Crispin Jeffries, who provided previously unknown details of the landing of the cocaine plane.  Jeffries told the court that the Secretary of Defence of Mexico had called National Security in Belize, inquiring whether an aircraft that had not filed a flight plan and had left from the Venezuelan border with Colombia, was entering Belize territory. The radar in Belize was not working that night so the plane could not be detected, but the anti-drug unit was deployed to the south at the same time when residents started to report sightings of a plane. The case began on November fourteenth and the prosecution concluded its arguments on Wednesday.

Who gave the order to shut off radar on the night a drug plane was coming? I’m curious; aren’t you?

“The radar in Belize was not working that night so the plane could not be detected”

    Why???
    Broken?
    No electricity bill paid?
Somebody turned it off as a co-conspirator?

  3. Rod says:

Every criminal in t,his gov. Has gotten off Scott free why why ill tell you why because if any one of them is convicted he will talk and bring down the ones on top therefore that is why their are no convictions of any police or customs agents who have been caught red handed and still get off free as a bird. Why is it that there hasn’t been anyone even accused of selling passports much less sent to jail who is responsible for hundreds of passports being sold around the world then it is judas who is responsible he has the last word so therefore he is culpable resign judas resign hasn’t their been enough deaths under your watch how many men women and children have to die before you resign.

  4. Amazed says:

  5. taking bets says:

Gather round people and place your bets:
1000:1 – guilty conviction fo all of them
100:1 – guilty conviction for 2 of them
    10:1 – guilty conviction for 1
    1:100 – not guilty

step up to the line and place your bets!

  10. Hatari says:

It will be a miracle if any of them are convicted. The police have probably screwed up the inestigation and evidence as usual. And do really think that the Big Dogs will let it happen?

  11. Elgin Martinez says:

The radar is still not working, had it being working Mcafee wouldn’t have being able to go into hiding.

  12. Belizean Pride says:

awesome they turn it off to save for electricity bill, nah, they knew what the hell was going on charge the operator of the radar for being a co-conspirator, guess how many tie this has been done already before this happened.

  13. mONICA says:

If the RADAR was not working, the plane should never have landed in Bz, it should have continued on to Honduras or Guatemala. Luckily, they didn’t land on peoples house which could have caused several death, but then again the Gov’t doesn’t care, all they wanted was $$$$$$. The plane should never be returned, but kept as evidence along with the drugs, and people involved.

  14. iwonder says:

was someone named Mike in charge of Civil Aviation when this plane landed?
