Cayo teen dies following Sunday knife fight

In the Cayo district, homicide detectives continue to investigate an incident in San Ignacio that resulted in the death of a teenager. According to police reports, eighteen year old Chris Rosales and his friends were walking on Burns Avenue around midnight on Christmas Eve when they were attacked by another group of men. When the melee ended, Rosales had been stabbed in the back and chest, seventeen year old Justin Rodriguez was wounded in the right arm, and twenty-five year old Kennylee Gonzalez had knife wounds to the stomach. All three were rushed to the hospital, but Rosales was pronounced dead on arrival. Gonzalez remains admitted to ward in a serious but stable condition and Rodriguez was treated and released. Investigations by police have led to the detention of one person believed to be responsible for the attack.
