Traffic accident claims life of Stann Creek Valley resident
Officers in the south had their hands full on Thursday night as a traffic accident on the Stann Creek Valley road claimed a man’s life. Thirty-five year old Cowpen businessman Elmer Aguirre has reported to police that around seven that night he was driving his cargo truck towards Silk Grass Village when he knocked down twenty-nine year old Carlos Romero Vasquez. According to Aguirre the collision was unavoidable as Romero was riding his bike from one side of the road to the other. The victim suffered severe head and body injuries and was rushed to the Southern Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. No charges have been filed against Elmer Aguirre in connection with the accident.
