2 men and a woman injured in City shootings

Three other persons were also injured in separate shooting incidents. Thirty-seven year old Darwin Middleton was shot on Caesar Ridge Road on Saturday night while a minor was shot at the corner of Dean Street and Euphrates Avenue on Sunday night. Both were victims of drive-by shootings and received multiple injuries as Police Press Officer Raphael Martinez explains.

“On Sunday, the sixteenth December at approximately ten-fifteen p.m., police visited the K.H.M.H. where they saw a seventeen year old minor of an East Collet Canal Address, Belize City with multiple gunshot wounds. Initial investigations reveal that on Sunday the sixteenth December at approximately nine-forty-five p.m., this minor was walking at the corner of Dean Street and Euphrates Avenue when a red van, heavily tinted, approached him reportedly and the occupants of that van fired several shots at him; causing his injuries. Eleven nine millimeter shells were recovered from the area and the minor was admitted to hospital in a stable condition.

The other shooting incident took place on the fifteenth of December at approximately nine-forty-five p.m.  Police visited the K.H.M.H. where thirty seven year old Darwin Middleton of a Belize City address was seen suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body. Initial investigations revealed that he was standing on Ceasar Ridge Road in front of an unnamed shop near the basketball court, when a grey SUV drove by and the persons from inside that SUV reportedly fired several shots at him causing his injuries.”

A nineteen year old Belize City woman was also shot on Friday night. Partridge Street resident, Yasmin Dominguez, was reportedly riding on Glenn Street along with her brother-in-law, twenty-nine year old Hezron McLaughlin when two gunmen fired about five shots at them. Dominguez was injured on the right side of the abdomen.
