Shooting victim lucky to be alive after shot in the eye.

What the police did have information on is a shooting that occurred in the city on Friday night. The victim received a bullet to the eye but was lucky to survive the attempt on his life. According to Police Press Officer, Raphael Martinez, Keyron Ysaguirre was on Mex Avenue when a lone gunman opened fire on him.

“On Friday, the twenty-first December at approximately seven-fifteen, police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw twenty-eight year old Keyron Ysaguirre of Belize City with an apparent gunshot wound to the left eye. Initial investigation revealed that on Friday, the twenty-first December at approximately six-fifty-three p.m., Keyron was riding his bicycle on Mex Avenue when he was apparently chased by a male of dark complexion wearing a black shirt who was riding a bicycle. This male fired several shots at Ysaguirre causing his injury. Police have recovered six Expended nine millimeter shells from the area and Keyron was admitted to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in a stable condition.”
