M.B.R.S. translates education campaign to Garifuna

One of Belize’s favourite bragging rights is the fact that eighty percent of the Western Hemisphere’s longest barrier reef is in our territorial waters. And as part of regional efforts to ensure the survival of this living entity, tonight officials are shifting strategy to focus attention on how we communicate. News Five’s Janelle Chanona explains.

This morning, representatives of the Meso American Barrier Reef Systems Project officially received twelve thousand Belize dollars from the Inter-American Development Bank to fund a new communications campaign to promote sustainable use of marine resources.
