Police charge 28 yr. old in Albert Street West shooting

Contrary to earlier police reports, tonight a twenty-eight year old man has been charged with the shooting of a fourteen year old boy. According to court reports, today Jermaine Arnold was arraigned on charges of Attempted Murder, Use of Deadly Means of Harm and Wounding. No plea was taken and the matter has been adjourned until December twenty-ninth. Though initial police reports had indicated a fourteen year old was the gunman, tonight we understand that Arnold was arrested for the shooting of fourteen year old Diondray Mckoy. The teenager reported to police that around eight thirty on the night of November twenty-fourth he was walking towards the basketball court on Albert Street West when two men on bikes approached him. Mckoy maintains that one of men then pulled out a gun and shot him in the upper part of his left leg. Sources tell News Five that during an identification parade, a witness has positively identified Arnold as the shooter.
