Hurricane season ends; Caribbean was quiet

You are looking at the tracks of the nine storms that occurred over a four month period in 2006. They fall well below the twelve to fifteen systems that were predicted for the season. According to scientists, the inactivity is due to an unusual warming of sea surface temperatures in the Pacific Ocean better known as El Nino.
