Shane Orio stars as Puntarenas wins C.A. championship
He may have left Belize for the greener pastures of football in Costa Rica, but there is no denying that former B.P.F.L. star goaltender, Shane Orio, has reached the peak of his career. Last night Orio’s team, Puntarenas, squared off against Olimpia of Honduras for the second game of the Central American Club Championship final. Olimpia’s one-nil victory in regulation time meant a tie on total points, forcing the two teams into a penalty kick shootout. In that dramatic do or die struggle Orio blocked a key Olimpia shot to pave the way for a three-one Puntarenas victory, making his team the top squad in all of Central America.
