Can G.O.B. find cash for salary adjustments?

Over six hundred and thirty-nine persons voted on our last question on whether government was attempting to union bust. An overwhelming seventy percent voted yes and thirty percent said no. Tonight’s question also relates to the teachers and public officers. It is: Do you think government can find the money to provide salary adjustments to teachers and other public officers? Yes man they can find the money deh only the play tricks pan teachers all we Belizeeans. If they can aford for a gangs why not for the teachers hard working people.
There is no excuse for this, stand to your word teachers keep pressuring any GOB that want to take advantage!!!

They can if they really want to. When they had to find money for increase police patrols they did. First begin by cutting the fat and waste of GOB. Cut contract officers; have government Vehicle Park after normal working hours, monitoring the issuing of fuel, taking off A/C and lights after working hours getting more for our oil and taking out political appointees from certain offices.

What we need to know is: how much money the ministers make? (apart from mordidas e.t.c.) I am very sure they make a ridicolous amount of $$$. Bring down their pay and give it to the teachers.

As what has been said they find money for gangs so they must find money for teachers. if they would allow BNE to drill they they would still be collecting $2,000,000.00 weekly as for 2011 only they collect 114 millions. Now Perenco from Guatemala have the contract and they are not drilling so Govt must check to see who is serious about this country getting revenues. Stop the B s and get on with the salary raise as we need to educate our kids so that we get better choice of leaders.

Teachers are obviously normal people in Belize, unlike ministers of governemnt and their cronies. Should have sold that rosewood and set up an education trust with the money to fund the teachers pay. Therefore, GOB does not care about their well being. Untill when election time comes around.

How about making million dollar retail business nationwide do every transaction on a cash register (w/receipt) instead of allowing them to put one of three sales transactions in a wooden drawer through a hand to hand exchange? This utter abuse of the system keeps millions of dollars of unaccountable revenue hidden from tax revenue collectors ON A DAILY BASIS! No more drawers. Every transaction on a cash register. No cash register, no monthly receipts to review when you pay your taxes, no business license. Period. Simple and easy to enforce through random undercover investigation. Heck, these businesses are so arrogant they actually have their own video cameras recording these illegal transactions! Enforce this policy and you’ll have enough money to pay teachers, fix deplorable infrastructure conditions in the vast majority of elementary schools and pay police officers. Get a clue Revenue Department!

To you journalists, there’s something to investigate and bring before the public’s attention.
