Partners of Americas refurbish City Park
As we reported earlier this week, the Belize Chapter of Partners of the Americas is planning to adopt the Noel Ferguson Park, located near Cinderella Plaza. During the organization’s annual convention, today visiting delegates took time out to plant trees, paint benches and repair swings. According to the local president, Doctor Christopher Bennett, the community project is the first of many scheduled initiatives.

?I do not really know what is the reason, but one day I got a call from Washington where the headquarters is and they suggested what is the possibility of us doing a community project, and I quickly agreed that yes there is a need. We looked around the area near to the hotel because we wanted for the participants to walk to the site. We saw the need for renovating this park and so we chose this.?
?The plan really is to really refurbish the park and transform it. The park was well run down and not functional, so we had to change a lot of the fixtures. Now we will be doing some tree planting and endless painting to make the whole park more colourful and more receptive to the residents of the area and to anybody who would like to enjoy a nice evening in a nice park.?
The Partners of Americas also planted trees at the Sister Cecilia Home for the Elderly.
