Director of Immigration moving to higher heights
For the past week the rumor mill has been buzzing busily and viciously after word that Director of Immigration Ruth Meighan was being removed from her post. Meighan gained recognition for her tenure at the Elections and Boundaries Office and, previous to that, she worked with the Transport Department. Perhaps because while she was Immigration Director, the Department came under intense scrutiny and fire for suspect visas and forged nationality documents with links all the way to Hezbollah, news that she was moving on was greeted with speculation, amidst reports of ministerial meddling. But Minister of Immigration, Godwin Hulse, told News Five today that Meighan is simply moving on up and he is actually sorry to see her go.
Godwin Hulse, Minister of Immigration
“She’s being transferred to the Ministry of Finance to fill a post that has been vacated by an officer who has resigned and whose last day is Friday. so Miss Meighan will be filling that post and we will be upgrading somebody within the department to take the directorship that she will be leaving. That has not been determined yet, so we don’t want to disclose who that person will be and who the deputies or others will be. That is really the only change. Any other rumors that are circulating are nothing more than just rumors cause you know when there are these changes, there are all sorts of things circulating over the place. The fact of the matter is that she is going to the Ministry of Finance to fill that post and so we have to fill her post in the department of Immigration. There is no other change in the ministry whatsoever. Through her tenor here, at least under my leadership, she’s had exemplary service and I have no reasons whatsoever. As a matter of fact, I would not have moved her and I would not have asked her to move.”
While Minister Hulse would not disclose who is taking Meighan’s place, he did say that the position will be filled from within the department. Meighan moves on to her new position at the Ministry of Finance on Monday.

Who is resigning from finance or why? Or is this person being forced to resign which is the actual standard in most of these GOB positions. Curious!
“DOI Moving to Higher Heights” says the headline. Okay, i’m stumped. Second, look at the picture of Godwin Hulse. Take a good look. Can you see the lies coming through his teeth?
Great question Belizean! In this case, Ms Cynthia Castillo is moving on to the post of Commissioner of Revenue, Turks and Caicos Islands. By the way , this is NOT a promotion for Ms Meighan, its just another lateral transfer.
If she couldn’t be trusted with visas, how can she be trusted with finance?
Let’s see her bank accounts.
