Two charged in city stabbing
Following a stabbing incident in Belize City over the weekend, police have arrested and charged two men for the crime. Seventeen year old Anibal Lemus and eighteen year old Maricio Lemus, brothers from Banak Street, have been charged with Attempted Murder, Dangerous Harm and Use of Deadly Means of Harm. The duo were detained following a report by twenty-nine year old Wayne Joseph on Sunday. According to Joseph, two men ambushed him on East Canal in an attempt to steal his pit-bull. When he refused, the victim was stabbed as many as five times in his torso. Joseph was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he is being treated for a punctured lung. We understand tonight that the pit-bull in question ran away during the attack and its whereabouts are unknown.
