Dr. George Gough’s close call at mile 28…

Story PictureThere were two accidents yesterday on the Western Highway. The first one involved doctor George Gough who ran in the UDP slate for Fort George against former PUP leader Said Musa. Gough who was defeated in the election, once penned a column in party’s newspaper. According to reports, the Hilux he was driving flipped three times. Gough immediately sent a text message to his brother Doctor John Gough who immediately came to his aid. Corporal Jerome Bermudez, the second in charge of the Hattieville Police Station told News Five what the investigation into the accident has revealed.

“Yesterday, one p.m., acting upon information received, police visited between miles twenty-seven and twenty-eight, where upon arrival they observed black four door Hilux with license plate 1738. Police observed that vehicle on the left hand side of the road with the left door, back door, rear glass, and mirror damaged. No one was on the scene of that accident. Further investigation revealed that it was one doctor Gough who was driving the said vehicle. That was the only information we received yesterday.”

“Any idea of the extent of any injuries?”

“Okay, police visited the hospital yesterday and they visited the Karl Heusner, also Belize Medical Associates and they were informed that no such person was there with any injuries.”

Relatives said that the road was slick at the time he swerved off the road. Gough only received minor bruises, and was unavailable for comment as he was attending a scheduled meeting.
