National Security donates 2 vehicles to police department
The B.D.F. and Coast Guard are not the only one who received generous donations. The Ministry of National Security on Monday also donated two Mahindra vehicles to the police department to assist in combating crime in the west and south. Minister of National Security, John Saldivar, handed over the vehicles to the Police Department; one will be deployed to the south and the other will be put to use in Belmopan. On hand to receive the vehicles were Officer Commanding the National Crimes Investigation Branch, Assistant Commissioner of Police Russell Blackett; and Officer Commanding the Intermediate Southern Formation, Assistant Superintendent Alton Alvarez.

“One of the vehicles will be deployed at ISF, the Immediate Southern Formation, under the command of Mister Alton Alvarez and the other will be here at CIB Belmopan.”

“Well it means a lot especially in these challenging times, there is need for mobility in the police department especially in the rural areas. The vehicle going to ISF will definitely play a role out there and the one for Belmopan CIB will also assist our officers to be able to get out there quicker in response to calls and when carrying out investigations.”
So where did this minister get these two new vehicles is this from the murders they committed or what.
Anyone know where the 50 Wingle pickups are that they bought a few years ago? I saw some in the nearest dump. These look much better.
This is not a “donation.” Purchasing vehicles and equipment for the security forces is a responsibility of the state. This donation by the Ministry of National Security is a joke and is not a newsworthy event. The real story here should be why the government took so long to purchase these important and necessary assets.
@storm good question, I think it is more like from the money they stole, like money laundering. What is sad is that the way the soldiers drive these vehicles they will look like a piece of crop in no time. It is sad to see how nice things are treated with such disdain in Belize. I wonder who will take these on a joy ride and crash them and or drive drunk and kill someone.
Al, u got any idea d amount of licking these vehicles take because in the BDF, only the high rankings benefit from them. even though they have a government vehicle for themselves, as they donate new vehicles, they are the first to get. Barrow atleast donate a wheel borrow for the BDF so that it will help them in the muddy terrain they patrol in the jungle.atleast that. when was the last time you guys heard the P.M visiting the BDF camps. He doesn’t because all the camps need 90% repairs. i would really like the different media houses to pay a courtesy visit n view all the camps. how horrible our poor soldiers live and still underpaid.
@ranger, I agree with you both the police and BDF are underpaid, and probably all government workers this is why it is so easy for them to take bribes. It is just too sad that they go for the hasty ten cents instead of the long term salary even though it may be small. Everything like this falls back on the back of the government, they get rich and the poor get poorer.
