Adventist headquarters break-in yields plenty of cash
Belize City police still do not know who stole over sixty-four thousand dollars from the Belize Seventh day Adventist Mission’s office on A Street in Kings Park. Sometime between one on Friday afternoon and eight on Sunday night a thief or thieves removed louvers from one of the windows to gain access to the two storey building. Once inside, police say the burglars made their way into an office where they managed to break open a vault that held the loot. Stolen was a total of twenty-five thousand, two hundred and thirty-eight dollars in U.S. currency, along with thirteen thousand, six hundred and fifty-three dollars in Belize money. It is not known why so much cash was being held at the church headquarters. News Five was unable to contact Adventist officials for comment.
