News 5 team scores in Caribbean Broadcasting Awards
The results of the annual Caribbean Broadcasting Awards have been released and, once again, Channel Five has taken home its share of the gold. Claiming the top spot for the region’s Best Television News Story was reporter Janelle Chanona and cameramen Rick Romero and George Tillett for their coverage of the 2005 protests in Belmopan. Chanona and Tillett scored again in the category of Best Television Report on Health for their story “Gift of Life”. That work had already won honours in this year’s PAHO awards. The full Caribbean Broadcasting Awards, sent by satellite from Barbados, will be aired here on Channel Five Wednesday night at eight.
