Destroying all that confiscated drugs
There are many cases of drug trafficking as well as numerous cases where drugs have been discovered in empty lots or abandoned properties, but where do all these drugs end up? Well, there are scheduled times, when all the drugs from closed cases or drugs that are labeled found property are destroyed. On Wednesday members the government press office and officials witnessed the destruction of a quantity of drugs. Superintendent Ralph Moody told us how much was destroyed.

“Well we have ninety-two thousand found hundred and seventy-six point nine grams of cannabis, one hundred and thirty-five point three grams of crack cocaine, and thirty-two point four grams of cocaine. That is just a small amount that we have; we will be doing a next destruction in the few weeks from now. Doing it like this having the Magistrate, the JP, and the forensic when we destroy it by fire; due to the fact that it could be transparent and we can report that yes we destroy it and it don’t go back on the streets.”
The destruction of the drugs took place in San Ignacio.

The only drugs destroyed are the ones that were tested and that was very small amounts.
