News of a kidnapping: toddler rescued from captors
A case of kidnapping has been reported in the Corozal District. It happened since Sunday but the media did not report it in order to reduce risks in endangering the life of the child. A high profile investigation has been taking place and a number of officers have been involved providing tactical and intelligence support in cracking the case. What we can say tonight is that a two-year old baby girl was abducted on Sunday night. Sometime between seven fifteen and seven-thirty p.m., businesswoman, thirty-one year old Mei Tang Chen left her business in the Corozal Free Zone at Santa Elena and was making her way home with her baby, Ivy Yang. While it was a routine trip for her, it appears that the mother and toddler were being monitored and pursued. As she headed home near the ITVET Road in the outskirts of the town, near Santa Rita Heights, two vehicles approached and boxed her vehicle from the front and the rear. Several masked men alighted the vehicles, took the child and demanded a ransom of four hundred and fifty thousand U.S. dollars in return for Ivy. Local and Mexican authorities were notified of the incident because it was felt that the kidnappers would likely cross the border. But the baby was recovered in the wee hours of this morning and has been reunited with her family. News Five was reliably informed that baby Ivy was being held in Fire Burn Village, a small community in southern Orange Walk. But where did the perpetrators make a misstep in their so-called foolproof plan? News Five understands that sometime between eleven a.m. on Monday and two a.m. this morning, the baby was recovered because a man who was being hired to transport the toddler became suspicious and took the child and headed to the nearest police in his vehicle. According to information received, five persons from Fire Burn, Guinea Grass and Corozal, including a female, have been detained in connection with the kidnapping.
When everything comes to light I would definitely want the media houses to post pictures of all persons involved.
That guy did the right thing going to the police with the baby. Now can we hang the kidnappers Pleaseeee.
Wow, that is brazen, thank God the man did the right thing, God bless him. I hope the parents also show their appreciation to him in a generous way.
I strongly urge the police to make an example of the perpetrators, because I will certainly feel disturbed knowing that the criminals in Belize are willing to resort to these awful crimes. Having a child kidnapped is among the most tragic thing to happen to a family.
This is what I am talking about, please listen. This is a spiritual war going on in this country, please pray people, God is your solution not the government and if the church do not respond to prayer services you hold prayer in your front yards, in your kitchens, in your neighborhoods. This is time to help yourself.
Reports vary on how the rescue occurred, but however it happened, bravo to the rescuers.
Hopefully the detainees will be squeezed relentlessly to disclose everything they know, who they worked with or for.
Kidnappers like this should die in prison. Let’s have a flawless investigation so they do not escape on “legal technicalities.”
God works in mysterious ways guys . Pray He works in the minds and hearts of man. We cannot give up our country to the demons , remember they were beaten at the cross.
BET THAT MONEY WILL COVER UP ALL OF THE KIDNAPPERS !!!!
POLICE WILL TAKE THE BRIBE FOR SURE!!!
