Mexican art exhibition focuses on church history
Sixty-four year old Carmen Parra, one of Mexico’s senior artists, will for the first time have her work showcased in Belize. The exhibition, which opens tonight at the Mexican Cultural Centre, features eighteen pieces in which the main theme is religion. According to the Embassy of Mexico’s Cultural Attache, Jorge Lopez Castro, Parra places great value on her country’s heritage. For the past ten years she has been involved in the study and artistic record of Mexico’s churches and cathedrals.
