Stealing from mixed martial arts school; really?
It would be a foolish thing to try to burglarize the police or the Belize Defense Force, but we know that forty two weapons were successfully stolen from the B.D.F. Headquarters at Price Barracks in 2011. Perhaps bold acts such as that inspired a theft in Belize City on Thursday night on Princess Margaret Drive. The House of Shotokan is preparing for a mixed martial arts event for next week Saturday. While practicing some power moves after eight p.m. inside the dojo, a brazen thief decided to steal a bicycle belonging to one of the Shotokan participants. The already energized group which was working out chased the culprit around the corner on Lizarraga Avenue. Shihan Ray Kelly, House of Shotokan’s Grandmaster told us what happened.

“The student recognized that it was his bicycle and someone stole it. So the mixed martial arts guys all barefooted poured out the door including myself and we chased after the individual. And we caught up to him on Lizarraga right by the hamburger restaurant, at TNT. There at that time when we caught up to the individual he stated he was borrowing the bicycle; he was going to return it back. The guys were highly upset and they wanted a piece of him; practice some of their upcoming techniques on him. But I restrained them. I asked the individual why did he steal the bike and he stated he was just borrowing it. And I said look you actually stole a bike from in front of a karate school; I mean how stupid can you be. Not being that you would even condone stealing at all, but for the mere fact that he had the audacity to come in front of our studio and steal the bike. The guys were highly upset, I was upset about it. We were able to contact a neighbor to call the Belize Police Department and a call was initiated and subsequently, the police unit showed up right then and there. I commend the police department for their quick rapid response in this manner.”

“Yeah these guys are preparing for a month now in fighting and hard training and body slamming; bruises, some blood, blood on the mat and running and pounding the streets here in Belize every morning at five o’clock. So they are pumped; they are ready for this fight coming up and as I said their testosterone level very high and that individual was like…I would have to say he was looking because I believe in Belizean society when a theft occur and people catch up to that thief, prior to the police responding; that guys gonna get a beat down real bad. It just so happen that our fighters restrained themselves from practicing their techniques on this guy here before the police arrived.”
Next week Saturday night at seven p.m., the House of Shotokan will host a mixed martial arts competition along with their Mexican counterparts at the Belize Elementary School Auditorium.
I admire Kelly’s restraint, but Belize needs some vigilante street justice these days — most crooks will never pay a price through the legal system.

They should have kicked the living crap out of the thief because the courts of Belize will only slap his wrist.

So when the BDF armory is broken into and automatic weapons stole, who are the fools?
Years later, that is still an unsolved case, and most of the weapons are still missing.
Did that not happen under the current government?

Nation of Izscam your comprehension is lacking. Let me paraphrase for you just the way it was foolish for this chap to steal a bicycle from Karate “experts” it should have been a foolish thing to steal weapons from the BDF.
